Independent comic creators Bud and Fud Burgy (The Burgy Brothers) have announced the official release of “Bushwhacked! Volume One.” The debut trade paperback anthology brings 112 pages of screwball, backwoods action-adventure to print.
Bushwhacked! follows a colorful crew of eccentric misfits navigating the chaotic, unpredictable world of the wild and wooly Bushwhacker Mountains. Driven by classic cartoon energy and high-stakes workplace comedy, the story balances a unique outlaw-country aesthetic with family-friendly humor. Central characters include the hyper-focused miner Meatfist, the butterfly-daydreaming laborer Gronk, and the highly unpredictable (and unstable) Dynamite Mule.
“Bushwhacked! is our love letter to classic cartoons, adventure stories, and the people and places that inspired us growing up,” said creator Bud Burgy, who resides in the Cedar-Isles-Dean neighborhood. “We wanted to build a world that feels timeless, funny, and a little bit wild.
