Stevens Square clean-up days
Meet at Steven Square Park on the third Saturday of each month, 10 a.m. to noon, to work together to keep the neighborhood clean. Participants may be eligible for a rent discount. All materials and supplies provided. For more details, visit www.stevenssquare.org/events. 

Lake Harriet Beach improvements
The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board has proposed improvements for Lake Harriet North Beach. They hope to improve accessibility, replace degrading infrastructure, and address other safety and maintenance needs. The plan includes retaining walls to support and help preserve trees, and provide ADA compliant access to the beach. Concept plans are available on the project webpage with construction expected to start spring 2027.

Buckthorn BUST AT GRASS LAKE
Join your neighbors for buckthorn busting events on Oct. 10 and Nov. 14 at Grass Lake. Meet 1-3 p.m. on the southwest side of the lake to cut, daub and haul. If you can help out, sign up here: https://forms.fillout.com/t/qeahcHrzoSus 

THREE-WEEK FRANCE AVENUE CLOSURE
A section of France Avenue (County Road 17) between West 69th and West 76th streets in Edina closed beginning Wednesday evening, Sept. 16, for sanitary sewer work. The work area, located just south of Southdale, is part of the City of Edina’s West 72nd Street Improvements project. The closure is expected to last approximately three weeks. Traffic will be detoured using West 76th Street, York Avenue, and West 69th Street.

NICOLLET OPEN STREETS SEPT. 26
Join the fun and volunteer at Nicollet Open Streets through the Kingfield Neighborhood Association on Saturday, Sept. 26, 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Volunteer shifts are 1-2.75 hours at 31st St. to 46th St. on Nicollet Ave. Volunteers will get a FREE Nicollet Open Streets T-shirt and access to the Volunteer Hub for snacks and drinks. Want to get involved before the big day? This year, volunteer sign-up also includes the Nicollet Ave Clean Up on Thursday, Sept. 24, from 6-7:30 p.m. to get Nicollet looking its best before the festivities begin.

BRYN MAWR CLEAN-UP SEPT. 26
The Bryn Mawr Environmental Sustainability Committee Neighborhood Clean-Up Day is set for Saturday, Sept. 26, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Begin at Bassett Creek Playground, located at Chestnut and Thomas. Supplies, including gloves, pickers, and buckets, will be provided. Stay for an hour or stay for two.

ODDTOBER NEIGHBORHOOD SOCIAL SEPT. 26
The Oddtoberfest Neighborhood Social at Oddmart (2520 Lyndale Ave.) returns on Sept. 26 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Pastries and N/A beverages provided. BYOB tasting and beer swap. Every Saturday Oddmart becomes a third space for neighbors to hang out, get creative, or play board games.

Open Streets Hennepin Oct. 11
From 26th St to 36th St, Hennepin Ave will close for the day so people can enjoy the streets, biking, rolling, walking and visiting vendor booths and local businesses.
