The public and media are invited to the Twin Cities Meteorological Society’s 5th Annual Minnesota State of the Climate at the Aŋpétu Téča Education Center, 1910 County Road B West, Roseville, MN 55113, on Jan. 15 at 6:30 p.m. in the large meeting room upstairs.

This free event brings to light the current state of Minnesota’s climate, takes a look at other climate topics, and invites conversations about the climate in a science-based, factual manner. It is in partnership with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (MnDNR) State Climatology Office.

The keynote speaker at this year’s event will be St. Thomas University Professor John P. Abraham, Ph.D, speaking on “What is happening with the climate?” Abraham is a climate scientist and engineer who works at the intersection of climate change and adaptation. His talk will cover the latest climate findings, the impacts on weather and society, and ideas to reduce risks as the climate evolves.

Also presenting are MnDNR State Climatology Office Assistant State Climatologist Pete Boulay and Senior State Climatologist Kenny Blumenfeld. A wrap-up of the Top 5 Minnesota Weather Events of 2025 as well as current numbers and information on the state of Minnesota’s climate will be provided by the two scientists.
