A Hennepin County judge found Taylor Schulz not guilty on Sept. 10, 2026. Schultz was accused of killing Skafte at Oak Park Grocer in December 2023.
A grand jury indicted Schulz of first-degree premeditated murder in Skafte’s death, reports MPR News.
Schulz was given mental health treatment until he was mentally competent to stand trial. He remains in custody at Forensic Mental Health Program in St. Peter and has been committed there "indefinitely" according to Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty.
